Dezak Castle, in 1325 AH, by order of “Lotfali Khan Amir Mufakhm Bakhtiari”, son of “Imam Gholi Khan Haji Ilkhani”, inspired by the architecture and decorations of European palaces of the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as a combination of Iranian architecture and art, In the village of Dezak, one of the functions of Kiar city was built in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari of Iran and during his lifetime, it was handed over to his eldest son “Fath Ali Khan Sardar Moazzam”.
Dezak Castle, which has been designed and decorated by Isfahani artists for a long time, has rooms with valuable walnut wood doors in which very beautiful patterns and drawings have been used.
The first floor of the historic Dezak Castle has an entrance porch in the middle of the building that connects to the inside of the building on both sides. There are four porches on either side of this porch, two on the north front and two on the south. To enter the second floor of Dezak Castle, you can use the north porches on both sides of the porch, so that you must first enter the area called the pool house, at the entrance of other rooms of this building through the existing stone stairs. The rooms on the second floor of Dezak Castle have two separate porches in the north and three interconnected porches in the south, with two three-door rooms on the north porches and two symmetrical three-door rooms on the south porch.
Among these three three-door rooms, there was a large hall called “Divankhaneh” or “Sofre Khaneh”, next to which there is a very beautiful and dreamy room called “Mirror Room”. On the sides of this room are two small rooms called “earrings”. The big hall of “Divankhaneh” or “Sofre Khaneh” has a 50-meter antique carpet board belonging to 90 years ago, which was woven in Bakhtiari region.
The only similar example of this carpet in the world, which is considered one of the most valuable examples of Bakhtiari carpet in terms of age, design and texture, is a famous Bakhtiari carpet board of the same size, which is kept in one of the exclusive collections in the United States.
The “Mirror Room” in Dezak Castle, known as the “Mirror House”, is located next to the Great Hall of the “Divankhaneh” or “Sofre Khaneh “. This beautiful room, decorated in European style, is very similar to the mirror room of Italian palaces. The “Mirror Room”, with its comprehensive and varied examples of the art of “porcelain knot”, “engraving” and “painting glass”, has two interlocking photo shells that have a three-dimensional view and examples of which are very rare. All the decorations and mirror work of this work of art have been done under the supervision of “Master Abolghasem Khajavi Esfahani”, one of the most prominent masters of mirror work in the last century.
The design and execution of the carvings and masonry of Dezak Castle, which was done under the supervision of “Master Hassan Pahlavan”, one of the famous sculptors of that period, is very impressive, especially the wall of the pond and the pillars of this building have a special and artistic effect.
Mr. Abolghasem Najafi Esfahani, at the time of the Russian attack, came to Dezak Fortress with two other clerics and asked “Fath Ali Khan Sardar Moazzam” to help them to prevent the Russian attack. Of course, “Fath Ali Khan Sardar Moazzam” prepared about six thousand Bakhtiari riders in a short time to fulfill this request and left for Isfahan under his own command.
This historic castle has been a suitable and safe place for gathering important and knowledgeable people, in order to hold symposiums with the aim of planning in order to implement important and national decisions.
In recent years, in order to make better use of the space in Dezak Castle, a clothing museum and a stone museum have been set up in this historical and cultural complex. Dezak Castle Clothing Museum was launched in February 2009 and introduced the clothes of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari cities, villages and regions.
The stone museum of Dezak historical castle was opened on February 12, 2016, as the second stone museum in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari. In this museum, 100 pieces of stone, including tombstones, columns, millstones, water stones and headboards, are displayed.
